Gift cards
Offer your customers a gift card as an alternative to a refund.
To increase customer loyalty you can offer your customer a gift card instead of a refund when they submit a return. Once the return is approved, your customers will receive a gift card via e-mail that can be used in your store.
Activating the gift cards
Gift cards are configured under the "Gift card" section in your Portal Configuration.
Incentivizing with extra value
In your gift card configuration, you can further incentivize your customer to pick a gift card by offering extra value. The value is specified as a % value on top of the amount. For example, if you configure a 10% extra value, and a customer returns items worth €200, then the customer will receive a gift card of €220 once the return is approved.
Configuring the gift card e-mail
We create gift cards directly via the Shopify API. The e-mail sent to your customer uses the active gift card template and notification text from your store. Typically the template is called gift_card.liquid
. You can change the appearance of the gift card and the associated text in your store.
