Shipping Carriers
Organize your returns made on the Float Portal
Float Portal
This page is directed at customers using Float's Portal for registering returns.
In order to define where returned items are shipped and which carriers should ship them in which country, we created a Portal Configuration page accessible in your Float dashboard. For every store, you can add a return address and configure shipping carriers. There must always be one default carrier we use to create return order labels. However, you can specify other carriers for specific countries we should use for label generation instead.
Adding a return address
- Navigate to the Portal Configuration page in your Float dashboard and select the store you want to configure.
- Go to "Carriers and return address".
- Click on "Edit" under "No return address set" and enter the address and contact information.
- After saving, Float will use this address on any return order label generated, and returns will be sent to the given location if shipping carriers are configured.
Adding a shipping carrier
- Navigate to the Portal Configuration page in your Float dashboard and select the store you want to configure.
- Go to "Carriers and return address".
- Click on "Add a carrier" under "Configure shipping carriers used to generate return order labels." and select a shipping carrier you want to add.
- Now, add authentication details by hitting "Configure" beside "Authentication details set".
- Within the popup with the title "Configure authentication details" depending on the selected carrier certain details have to be provided in order for us to be able to generate shipping labels.
- Hit "OK" on done, the popup will close.
- On the right of the row, decide wether this carrier should be used as default or rather should apply to certain country/countries.
- Hit "Save" in order to store the configuration. A test label will be created to test the provided authentication details. On success, your carrier configuration is stored and used in operation.

Removing a shipping carrier
- Navigate to the Portal Configuration page in your Float dashboard and select the store you want to configure.
- Go to "Carriers and return address".
- Click on "Edit" beside a carrier.
- Hover over the carrier you want to remove and hit the "X" in the top right corner of the row.
- Hit "Save" in order to store the configuration.
Troubleshooting
There must be at least one default carrier
We require one of your configured carriers to act as a default/fallback in case no other carrier is defined for a country a return is registered in. You should have a carrier for countries you ship to more often. But if you have customers in countries your carriers do not support the "No label" carrier can be used as a placeholder. In these cases, add the "No label" carrier as a default carrier and restrict your other carriers to countries they support.
Failed label generation check
We were not able to create a shipping label with the carrier you added. Please check your authentication details and try again. If the problem persists, contact the shipping carrier.
